In 1998, Carisbrooke set up a bespoke Limited Liability Partnership to acquire 4 shopping centres from HVB and the corporate acquisition of West Register P13 Ltd (a RBS controlled entity), which owned 20 mixed use properties. This was financed in part by a £89 million ten year revolving credit facility from HVB.

During 1999, Carisbrooke disposed of individual properties at Capital Interchange, Kew, Ryde Complex, Richmond, Deacon Trading Estate, Eastleigh, The Skill Centre, Ipswich , Hertz House, Cranford and St Martin’s House, Watford.

Further disposals of properties in High St Maidenhead and Central Court, Station Way Crawley were made in 2002.

The shopping centres were actively managed to maximise the rental streams and by taking surrenders of key individual units and re letting them at levels which provided an increased tone for the relevant pitches in the centres. At the same time we engineered more efficient use of space at the centres and designed a 42,000 sq ft extension at Peckham.

The balance of the portfolio was sold in 2002 to Chancerygate.
